This technology developed by a UK research group offers a rapid, reliable and sensitive molecular assay, for detection of neisseria meningiditis(NMG), with potential for development into a ‘point-of-care’ format. The invention is a rapid in-vitro diagnostic method for detecting nucleic acids (RNA or DNA) from NMG in clinical specimens, without the use of expensive laboratory instruments. Thus leading to a rapid diagnostic test without referral to a laboratory.  A licensing agreement is sought.

An Epidural Waveguide Probe for central neuraxial anaesthesia
